Reflected XSS via unescaped currency-switcher URL
Published Mar 1, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in WP Wham Currency Switcher for WooCommerce 2.16.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts via a crafted URL. Within alg_currency_select_link_list(), the link-list shortcode placed the URL returned by add_query_arg() directly into an href attribute without esc_url() output escaping. Exploitation requires an unauthenticated attacker to induce a user to follow the crafted link, after which the injected script executes in that user's browser in the site's origin.
