Browser script execution via unescaped settings-page URL
Published Oct 2, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in MC4WP: Mailchimp Top Bar 1.6.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via a crafted settings URL. The settings-page.php view prints an add_query_arg-generated URL into an HTML attribute without escaping its return value. Exploitation requires an unauthenticated attacker to lure a user into opening a crafted link, allowing script execution in that user's browser.
