Reflected XSS via unescaped query-derived URLs
Published Oct 8, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Boone Gorges BuddyPress Docs 2.2.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to inject scripts through crafted URLs. The history and document-filter templates pass request-derived URLs through remove_query_arg() and embed the results in link attributes without URL escaping. A victim must follow an attacker-crafted link; the injected script then executes in that victim's browser in the affected site's origin.
