CVE-2024-9191

Password disclosure via over-permissive device access pipe

Published Nov 1, 2024 · Updated Nov 5, 2024

Information disclosure in Okta Verify for Windows 5.0.2 through 5.3.2 allows local users to retrieve Desktop MFA login passwords. OktaDeviceAccessPipe permits password retrieval by local low-privileged processes because its default permissions are too broad. Exploitation requires a compromised device and the passwordless feature enabled; FastPass-only deployments and other platforms are unaffected.
