CVE-2024-9188Network attack vector

Administrator-token theft via crafted-query cross-site scripting

Published Jan 10, 2025 · Updated Jan 13, 2025

Cross-site scripting in Arista Edge Threat Management 17.1.0 through 17.1.1 allows remote attackers to steal administrator tokens. Arista states only that specially constructed queries trigger the flaw; it has not disclosed the affected request handler or the improper operation applied to query input. No special configuration or prior authentication is required, but an administrator must interact with the crafted content; successful exploitation exposes a privileged session token and enables unauthorized settings changes.
