Stored cross-site scripting via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Sep 26, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored cross-site scripting in Common Tools for Site 1.0.2 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via SVG uploads. The SVG upload path accepts embedded script without sufficient input sanitization and serves the file without adequate output escaping, so the browser interprets the payload as active content. Author-level access or higher is required to store the payload, and a visitor who accesses the uploaded SVG runs the script in the site's browser origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
