Stored XSS via unsanitized attachment names

Published Mar 24, 2025 · Updated Mar 24, 2025

Stored XSS in Forcepoint Email Security 8.5.5 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts via malicious attachment names. The Blocked Messages view renders an attachment name without adequate sanitization, causing script execution when the crafted name is displayed. Exploitation requires a user to view the malicious blocked-message entry and permits script actions in that user's browser context.
