Database export via missing BigQuery authorization
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Missing authorization in Lunary before 1.4.30 allows remote authenticated users to export the entire database through the BigQuery route. The /bigquery API handler checks only whether data-warehouse exports are enabled, then creates a Google Datastream without access-control middleware or a user-role check. Any logged-in account can reach the route when exports are enabled, exposing password hashes and secret API keys and permitting service disruption.
