Unauthenticated email sending via unchecked SMTP test
Published Oct 10, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Missing authorization in WP Helper Premium 4.6.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to send arbitrary email through a WordPress site. The whp_smtp_send_mail_test function accepts unauthenticated requests and invokes the configured mail path without a capability check. No WordPress account is required, and successful requests can make the affected site deliver attacker-chosen content to any recipient.
