Stored XSS via unsanitized SVG uploads
Published Oct 1, 2024 · Updated Oct 1, 2024
Stored XSS in GrandPlugins AVIF Uploader 1.1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through uploaded SVG files. The SVG upload path accepts attacker-controlled markup without neutralizing embedded scripts, and the stored file is served without sufficient output escaping. Author-level access is required; the script runs when a user opens the SVG and can act in that user's browser context.
