CVE-2024-9054Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized configuration parameter

Published Oct 4, 2024 · Updated Aug 29, 2025

OS command injection in Microchip TimeProvider 4100 before 2.4.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via a configuration upload. The /config_restore handler accepts an uploaded XML configuration and executes Bash syntax embedded in an unsanitized secret_key value. Access to the separate management-port WebGUI and configuration-upload rights are required; execution can expose or alter appliance data and interrupt service.
