CVE-2024-9053Network attack vector

Remote code execution via unsafe RPC deserialization

Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025

Deserialization of untrusted data in vLLM 0.6.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute code through RPC messages. AsyncEngineRPCServer.run_server_loop passes each received message to _make_handler_coro, which invokes cloudpickle.loads without validating the serialized object. Network access to the RPC entrypoint is sufficient to run attacker-controlled code with the vLLM process privileges.
