CVE-2024-9004Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unsanitized backup host

Published Sep 19, 2024 · Updated Sep 20, 2024

OS command injection in D-Link DAR-7000 20240912 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute commands through the management interface. The action=test handler in /view/DBManage/Backup_Server_commit.php passes the POST host parameter to an operating-system shell without neutralizing command substitutions, as demonstrated by a sleep${IFS}3 payload. The CNA assessment requires low privileges, and successful exploitation runs attacker-chosen commands on the gateway.
