CVE-2024-9001Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated command execution via unchecked command parameter

Published Sep 19, 2024 · Updated Sep 19, 2024

OS command injection in TOTOLINK T10 4.1.8cu.5207 allows remote authenticated users to execute commands via a crafted CGI request. The setTracerouteCfg handler in /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi passes the POST command parameter directly to doSystem, so shell metacharacters append attacker-selected commands. A valid SESSION_ID cookie is required, and successful exploitation runs commands with the web management process's privileges, permitting data access, configuration changes, or service interruption.
