Stored XSS via unescaped map shortcode attributes
Published Sep 27, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in MiKa OSM – OpenStreetMap 6.1.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts via map shortcodes. The osm_map and osm_map_v3 renderers place user-supplied shortcode attributes into page output without adequate sanitization or escaping. Contributor-level access is sufficient; the stored script runs when a visitor opens the affected page, enabling script execution in that visitor's browser.
