Administrator stored XSS via unescaped Text Color
Published Dec 20, 2024 · Updated Dec 20, 2024
Stored XSS in Max Foundry MaxButtons before 9.8.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts through the Text Color setting. The button editor stores an unsanitized Text Color value and inserts it without attribute escaping into the live-preview button markup. Administrator access and a multisite installation or disabled unfiltered_html capability are required, and opening or hovering over the poisoned preview runs the script in that viewer's browser.
