CVE-2024-8898Public exploit

Arbitrary directory creation or deletion via app name

Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025

Path traversal in LoLLMs WebUI before V12 allows local users to create or delete arbitrary directories through app-management APIs. The install_app and uninstall_app handlers join an unsanitized app_name segment to application-zoo paths, and uninstall_app passes the result to shutil.rmtree. Exploitation requires a valid client identifier and local high-privilege access under the CNA assessment; traversal can alter directories outside the app zoo.
