CVE-2024-8827

Code execution via PPM parser out-of-bounds write

Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 25, 2024

Out-of-bounds write in Tracker Software Products PDF-XChange Editor 10.3.0.386 allows remote attackers to execute code via a crafted PPM file. The PPM parser insufficiently validates user-supplied data before writing it, allowing the write to pass the end of its allocated buffer. Exploitation requires a user to visit a malicious page or open the file, and successful code runs with the privileges of the Editor process.
