Browser script execution via unescaped URL construction
Published Oct 1, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in ghuger Custom Banners 3.3 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute scripts in a user's browser via crafted URLs. At include/tgmpa/init.php line 96, add_query_arg builds a URL that reaches page output without the escaping required for its output context. Exploitation requires no account but does require a user to follow an attacker-crafted link, after which the injected script runs in that user's site origin.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
