CVE-2024-8746Network attack vector

Unauthenticated backup transfer via missing type validation

Published Oct 16, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026

Arbitrary backup file transfer in File Manager Pro 8.3.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to upload and download server files via AJAX. The mk_file_folder_manager_shortcode action accepts backup files without validating their file types before processing the transfer. No WordPress account is required, but an administrator must first grant File Manager access; successful abuse reads or writes server files, and executable uploads enable remote code execution.
