Reflected XSS via unescaped generated URL
Published Sep 13, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Reflected XSS in Cron Jobs 1.2.9 and earlier allows remote attackers to run scripts in a user's browser through a crafted URL. The administrative page builds a URL with add_query_arg and outputs it without context-appropriate escaping, allowing attacker-controlled query content into the response. Scripts execute only after a user follows the link, within that user's WordPress browser context, where page-accessible data can be read or changed.
