Authenticated arbitrary file read via template path traversal
Published Sep 11, 2024 · Updated Sep 12, 2024
Path traversal in Heyewei JFinalCMS through 20240903 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files. The /admin/template/edit handler passes the attacker-controlled fileName to TemplateUtils.read, which uses Apache Commons IO FileUtils without confining the resolved path. Low-privileged authenticated access to template administration is required, and successful exploitation discloses files readable by the application account without changing them.
