Stored XSS via unescaped backup-count setting
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 17, 2025
Stored XSS in WpProKing Backup Database 4.9 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript via a backup-count setting. The Number of Backup field stores an administrator-supplied value without sanitization and renders the value without output escaping. Administrator access is required, and a viewer must load the affected settings page; execution occurs even when unfiltered_html is disabled in multisite.
