CVE-2024-8687

Protection bypass via exposed portal passcodes

Published Sep 11, 2024 · Updated Sep 11, 2024

Information exposure in PAN-OS, Prisma Access, and GlobalProtect App allows local users to learn configured protection passcodes. The GlobalProtect portal exposes the stored uninstall password and disable or disconnect passcodes configured in three portal agent options instead of keeping those secrets outside the end user's control. Exposure requires at least one affected passcode or password option to be enabled; the recovered value lets that user uninstall, disable, or disconnect endpoint protection despite policy restrictions.
