Stored XSS via unescaped shortcode attributes
Published Oct 25, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Stored XSS in the html5radio shortcode in Shoutcast Icecast HTML5 Radio Player 2.1.7 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to inject scripts. The shortcode accepts user-supplied attributes without sufficient input sanitization and renders them without adequate output escaping, preserving attacker-controlled script in a page. Contributor-level access is required to create the page, and the script executes in a visitor's browser whenever that page is opened.
