CVE-2024-8642Network attack vector

Protected data access via omitted token validity checks

Published Sep 11, 2024 · Updated Sep 11, 2024

Authentication bypass in Eclipse Dataspace Components before 0.9.0 allows remote authenticated users to reuse expired transfer tokens. The ConsumerPullTransferTokenValidationApiController validates token signatures without applying expiry, not-before, or issuance-date rules before returning the decrypted data address. Exploitation requires a privileged token, the transfer-data-plane module, and an HTTP proxy consumer-pull data plane, preserving the token's access to protected downstream data.
