Cross-user chat access and deletion via unchecked paths
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Oct 15, 2025
Improper access control in GaiZhenbiao ChuanhuChatGPT before 20240918 allows remote authenticated users to read and delete others' chat histories. The save_file and delete_chat_history routines accepted a supplied filename and wrote or removed its paths without verifying that their parent directory matched the current user. Any authenticated account with multi-user access could cross the intended history boundary, exposing or destroying another account's stored conversations.
