CVE-2024-8606Network attack vector

Two-factor authentication bypass via incomplete session validation

Published Sep 23, 2024 · Updated Sep 23, 2024

Incorrect authorization in the Checkmk REST API allows remote authenticated users to bypass required two-factor authentication. The REST API accepts a partially authenticated session without verifying every required factor in 2.2.0 before 2.2.0p34 and 2.3.0 before 2.3.0p16. A valid first-factor login is required, after which protected API operations become available without completion of the configured second factor.
