CVE-2024-8587

Code execution via SLDPRT heap buffer overflow

Published Oct 29, 2024 · Updated Sep 3, 2025

Heap-based buffer overflow in Autodesk AutoCAD-based products 2022 through 2025 allows attackers to execute code via a crafted SLDPRT file. The odxsw_dll.dll parser overruns a heap buffer while processing untrusted SLDPRT content; Autodesk has not disclosed the malformed field or boundary error. A user must open the file in an affected Windows application, after which the process can crash, sensitive data can be written, or code can run with the user's privileges.
