Memory corruption via unchecked desc field
Published Sep 8, 2024 · Updated Sep 10, 2024
Buffer overflow in cstecgi.cgi in TOTOLINK AC1200 T8 and AC1200 T10 firmware allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory. The setIpPortFilterRules function copies an overlong desc field without enforcing the destination buffer size, overflowing the CGI process memory. Access to the router management interface with low privileges is required; published evidence does not establish whether exploitation causes a crash or code execution.
