CVE-2024-8573Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated memory corruption via unchecked strcpy

Published Sep 8, 2024 · Updated Mar 3, 2025

Buffer overflow in TOTOLINK AC1200 T8 and T10 4.1.5cu.861_B20230220 and 4.1.8cu.5207 allows remote authenticated users to corrupt memory. In /cgi-bin/cstecgi.cgi, setParentalRules copies the attacker-controlled desc POST value into v6 with strcpy and no length check. The published proof of concept requires a session cookie and supplies the oversized input, but it does not document the resulting device behavior.
