CVE-2024-8553Network attack vector

Database disclosure via loader-macro field remapping

Published Oct 31, 2024 · Updated Nov 11, 2025

Authorization bypass in Foreman's report-template loader macros allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary database fields. The macros accept crafted strings that remap fields from loaded results onto the original object class, bypassing resource-scoped permission checks. Exploitation requires permissions to view a loader-backed resource and to view and create templates; the documented consequence is database-data disclosure.
