Administrator-level code execution via direct eval
Published Oct 30, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Eval injection in W3Speedster 7.26 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute server-side code via an Administrator session. The hookBeforeStartOptimization() function passes the attacker-controlled script parameter directly to PHP eval(), treating supplied text as executable code. Administrator-level access is required, and successful exploitation grants control of the affected WordPress site through code running in the server context.
