Unauthenticated file disclosure via absolute path traversal
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Absolute path traversal in ModelScope AgentScope 0.0.4 and earlier allows remote attackers to read arbitrary host files over RPC. The rpc_agent_client download_file method accepts an absolute path supplied by the caller and returns the referenced file without restricting it to an approved directory. The RPC service must be network-reachable; no authentication or user interaction is required, and disclosure is limited to files readable by the service process.
