CVE-2024-8452Network attack vector

Credential recovery via obsolete SNMPv3 cryptography

Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Weak cryptography in SNMPv3 on affected PLANET managed switches allows remote attackers to recover plaintext credentials. The SNMPv3 service offers only obsolete authentication and encryption algorithms, reducing credential protection enough to permit recovery. Network reachability to SNMPv3 is sufficient, and recovered credentials expose the authenticated management context associated with that account.
