CVE-2024-8448Network attack vector

Root shell access via hard-coded CLI credentials

Published Sep 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 30, 2024

Use of hard-coded credentials in PLANET GS-4210 switches allows remote authenticated users to obtain a Linux root shell. A specific command-line interface accepts an embedded credential after a user has gained regular switch access and assigns that session root privileges. SSH or serial-console access with regular privileges is required; success grants full Linux shell control over the switch.
