Stored XSS via unsanitized Google API key
Published May 15, 2025 · Updated May 17, 2025
Stored XSS in Softaculous Pagelayer before 1.8.8 allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to inject scripts via settings. The Integration tab accepts a crafted Google API key without sanitizing it and later renders the saved value without output escaping. The attack requires administrator access and disabled unfiltered_html; the script runs when Pagelayer settings are viewed.
