Unauthenticated administrator registration via caller-supplied role
Published Feb 28, 2025 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Incorrect privilege assignment in SiteSao DHVC Form 2.4.7 and earlier allows remote attackers to register administrator accounts. The registration handler accepts a caller-supplied role field and assigns that role to the newly created WordPress user without restricting it to safe roles. No authentication or user interaction is required; a successful request creates an administrator account with full site control.
