CVE-2024-8382Network attack vector

Browser-feature disclosure via exposed internal event interfaces

Published Sep 3, 2024 · Updated Nov 4, 2025

Information disclosure in Mozilla Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird allows remote attackers to infer feature use through crafted web content. Privileged EventHandler callbacks expose internal browser event interfaces to ordinary web content, revealing signals such as DevTools-console use. A user must load attacker-controlled content and trigger a relevant browser feature; the exposed interfaces confer no elevated privileges.
