Type confusion in affected Firefox, Firefox ESR, and Thunderbird releases allows remote attackers to corrupt memory through crafted JavaScript. A property-name lookup on an object serving as a JavaScript with environment confuses the object's runtime type, creating an exploitable memory-safety condition. Firefox exposure requires script execution in a browsing context; Thunderbird disables scripting while reading email, limiting ordinary message-based reachability.
