Code execution via VARIANT vtable overwrite
Published Sep 19, 2024 · Updated Sep 19, 2024
Deserialization in Google Reverb before commit 6a0dcf4 allows remote attackers to execute code through a crafted VARIANT tensor. Tensor decompression allocates C++ VARIANT objects, then copies attacker-controlled tensor_content bytes over their vtable pointers. InsertStream and SampleStream are unauthenticated by default; execution occurs when a client samples the stored tensor and invokes a method or destructor.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
