Root code execution via iAP serial SQL injection
Published Nov 22, 2024 · Updated Nov 26, 2024
SQL injection in DeviceManager in Visteon Infotainment 74.00.311A allows physically proximate attackers to execute code as root. DeviceManager accepts an iAP serial number without proper validation and incorporates the attacker-controlled string into SQL queries. Physical access to the infotainment system is required, but neither authentication nor user interaction is required, and successful exploitation grants root-context code execution.
