Stored XSS via unsanitized contact name rendering
Published Aug 30, 2024 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Contact Manager with Export to VCF 1.0 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in other users' browsers. The Add Contact flow stores the contact_name value, and index.html renders it in the contact table without neutralizing executable markup. An account that can add a contact and a victim who views the contact list are required; injected script runs in the victim's browser session.
