Denial of service in MongoDB Server 6.0 before 6.0.17, 7.0 before 7.0.13, or 7.3 before 7.3.4 allows remote authenticated users to crash secondaries. The prepareUnique index transition incorrectly enforces uniqueness constraints on replica-set secondaries when replicated writes encounter duplicate keys. Reaching the fault requires permission to modify the index and write affected data; multiple secondary crashes can leave the replica set without a primary.
