CVE-2024-8300

Local code execution via FA driver DLL hijacking

Published Nov 28, 2024 · Updated Jan 9, 2026

DLL hijacking in GENESIS64 and ICONICS Suite 10.97.2, 10.97.2 CFR1, 10.97.2 CFR2, and 10.97.3 allows local users to execute code. The FA device communication driver retains dead code that makes a DLL in a custom installation folder susceptible to hijacking and tampering. Exploitation requires local authenticated access and a non-default, unprotected installation folder, enabling data disclosure or alteration, data destruction, or service interruption.
