Stored XSS via unescaped background color output
Published Sep 24, 2024 · Updated Jan 17, 2025
Stored XSS in Concrete CMS 5.0.0 through 8.5.18 and 9.0.0 through 9.3.3 allows remote authenticated users to inject browser code. The thumbnail dashboard page passes the saved Image Editor Background Color into the ftSaveAreaBackgroundColor control without HTML escaping, so markup stored through Thumbnails/Add-Type is rendered as executable content. Administrator access to Thumbnails/Add-Type is required, and the published impact is limited to reading data exposed in the affected browser context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
