Administrator account takeover via unchecked customer ID
Published Sep 25, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authorization bypass in WCFM – Frontend Manager for WooCommerce 6.7.12 and earlier allows authenticated users to take over administrator accounts. WCFM_Customers_Manage_Controller::processing trusts a user-controlled ID key and updates the referenced account's email without verifying authorization. Subscriber/customer-level access is sufficient to target an administrator, set a new email address, and initiate a password reset.
