Unauthenticated account takeover via unbound login transients
Published Sep 11, 2024 · Updated Apr 8, 2026
Authentication bypass in VillaTheme WooCommerce Photo Reviews Premium 1.3.13.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to access user accounts. The login() function accepts a user transient without binding it to the requester or independently verifying the referenced user identity. Exploitation requires a valid transient containing a user_id, such as one left for 30 days after a user dismisses an admin notice, and grants access to that user account.
