CVE-2024-8270Public exploit

TCC permission abuse via DYLIB injection

Published Jun 10, 2025 · Updated Jun 11, 2025

Incorrect authorization in Rocket.Chat Desktop 4.1.2 and earlier allows local users to capture protected audio via DYLIB injection on macOS. The app omits Hardened Runtime and disables library validation, so launchd can start it with an attacker-supplied DYLD_INSERT_LIBRARIES payload under Rocket.Chat's sandbox and TCC identity. A local low-privileged user must place a library and launch configuration; injected code inherits only permissions already granted to Rocket.Chat, such as microphone or camera access.
