Unauthenticated server crash via uncaught embed exception
Published Mar 20, 2025 · Updated Mar 20, 2025
Denial of service in Mintplex Labs AnythingLLM before 1.2.2 allows remote attackers to crash the server through the embeddable-chat API. The canRespond middleware performed quota queries with an unvalidated sessionId and allowed the resulting Prisma exception to escape the request handler. The Docker-only embeddable-chat feature must be enabled and reachable; the demonstrated consequence is a server crash without data disclosure or modification.
